  • Older Adults Waiver:

    Case management and services designed to avert nursing home placement of individuals 50 years of age and older desiring to remain in the community

  • Congregate Meal
    “Eating Together” Program:

    5 sites located throughout the county provide well balanced meals to persons 60 years of age or older and their spouse regardless of age.

  • Home Delivered Meals:

    A nutritionally balanced meal is delivered to frail homebound elderly five days a week.

  • Support Services:

    Social, recreational, educational opportunities, trips, legal assistance are offered to older adults at Senior Centers and Eating Together Sites. A telephone reassurance service for homebound elderly is available as well as a cellular phone loaner program.

  • Senior Information and Assistance:

    Persons 60+ are provided assistance in accessing the complex world of services and benefits.

  • Senior Health Insurance Program:

    Assistance regarding health insurance, including supplemental policies, prescription coverage, long term care insurance and how to access programs available through the State of Maryland.

  • Health and Fitness Services:

    Flowery Vale Health and Fitness Center provides a holistic approach to the health and fitness of adults 50 year of age and older.

  • Volunteer and Employment Opportunities:

    Many volunteer opportunities are available to individuals interested in assisting the elderly. The Sr. Aide Employment Program provides employment and training to individuals meeting program criteria.

  • In Home Services:

    In-home service to seniors 65+ enabling them to remain independently in their home is available through the Sr. Care Program. Assistance with Respite Care for families caring for Alzheimer’s patients or persons with related disorders is offered.

  • Guardianship:

    By court appointment, the AAA acts as guardian of person for disabled elderly 65 years of age or older.

  • Ombudsman:

    Trained staff ensure that the rights of residents of long term care facilities are upheld and that they receive the quality of care they are entitled to under the law.

  • National Family Caregiver
    Support Program:

    Provides assistance to family members who are the caregivers to individuals 60 years and older or to grandparents and other relatives age 55 and older who have assumed care of a child 18 years of age or younger
