Garrett County Community Action Committee, Inc. has an immediate opening for a permanent, full-time Financial Education Counselor to work with low- to moderate-income clients, both on an individual basis and in group settings. Qualified applicants will have knowledge of financial basics, including budgeting, debt and credit skills. Knowledge of reverse mortgages and experience in foreclosure counseling a plus. He/she should be organized and also possess excellent presentation and interpersonal communication skills.
Position requires Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent years of experience in financial counseling. Applicant must have valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Position Opening
FT MAP Manager with Garrett County CAC/Area Agency on Aging. Responsibilities include: overall responsibilities for development and management of the agency’s Maryland Access Point (MAP) site (Aging and Disability Resource Center), providing intake, screening, information, assistance/referral to aging adults, adults with disabilities and caregivers. Develops partnerships and collaborates with local agencies. Responsible for the integration and maintenance of information into MAP website. Develops and conducts a comprehensive outreach campaign. Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services with experience working with elderly and/or disabled population; or AA Degree and 5 years related experience. Knowledge of programs, benefits, and services for elderly and disabled individuals. Knowledge of basic social work principles, including case management.
