Early Head Start

A comprehensive early child development program designed to meet the needs of pregnant women and children from birth to age three. Center based and home based services are offered.

Head Start

A positive learning environment and developmentally appropriate experiences are provided to children 3 to 5 years of age at 10 locations throughout Garrett County. Health, Nutrition, and Parent and Family Support services are also available. Center Based and Home Based Services offered.

Wrap Around Child Care

Licensed child care is provided at the Overlook Center in Oakland and the Head Start Center in Grantsville for children 3 to 12 years of age. Hours of operation at the Overlook Center are from 6:30 a.m. until 11:30 p.m. daily, Monday through Friday and from 3:00 p.m. at the Grantsville Center. Primarily a before and after school program during the school year, the program does operate full day during the summer and on most school holidays.

Overlook Judy Center Partnership

A school readiness program linked to Yough Glades and Dennett Road Elementary Schools, Oakland area Early Head Start Centers, Overlook and Dennett Road Head Start Centers, and private child care providers.
