Garrett County Community Action Committee works with the eight incorporated towns in Garrett County to implement strategies that improve quality of life and economic opportunities.  Community Action and the eight towns organized a mayors' council to administer resources and share costs.  Supported by a grant to Community Action from Maryland’s Community Legacy Program each of the towns created and adopted a strategic revitalization plan.  Community Action employs a town manager circuit rider, a grants administrator and a codes enforcement officer shared among the eight municipalities.
